Name my business!

I need help coming up with a name for my business. For those of you who don't know what I am talking about, let me explain. I bought a lathe to make wood turnings. If you don't know what turnings are, look up www.tablelegs.com I also hope to make furniture like tables, china hutches, music stands and stools, etc. Your ideas and requests are welcome. Anyways, I need help with the name. Here are some suggested names.

  • The Shed
  • The Yellow Shed
  • Black Rock Woodworking

Also, I need a slogan to follow the name.

For example: Black Rock Woodworking, Fine Furniture & Turnings.

Please comment on these names, as well as possible slogans.

Thanks.

I still like "The Wood Shed". For a slogan, "Turning the Tables in Custom Fine Furniture." I'll see what else I can think up today...

Oooh! Fun! We had a good time with this assignment. The names and slogans could mix-and-match whichever 2 go together.

The Wood Shop: Turning your legs without twisting your arm.

Ty's Woodworking: Giving you a leg to stand on.

Model Furniture: Turning you on to our legs.

Old Tyme (Ty + Mel) Woodworking: a family business for generations.

Old Barn Woodwork...in Beautiful, downtown Newton.

Fallen Oak Furniture: Turning over a new leaf.

Dark Stain: We’ve got the tools to turn your stools.

I was really wishing that I was creative enough to give you a good answer and then I read PM & VD's post. How does one match that?

Good luck with it!

"Black Rock Woodworking" sounds the most like you. But then, "The Wood Shed" is simple like Char. I like "The Yellow Shed" or "The Old Barn Woodworking Co." or "Old Tyme Woodworking" (names with character)but then I care more about what the whole logo/font looks like in the end... and of course, PMan and VDiva came up with extremely clever names, just like them!
